Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What is a golf simulator? A golf simulator is an indoor setup that lets you play and practice golf year-round using a launch monitor, impact screen, projector, and simulator software. You hit real golf balls into a screen and the system tracks your shot and displays it in a virtual course or driving range environment. A complete setup typically includes an enclosure, screen, launch monitor, projector, hitting mat, and software.
What do I need to build a golf simulator? A complete setup requires five core components: an enclosure or impact screen, a launch monitor, a projector, a hitting mat, and simulator software. You also need a computer that meets the software's minimum specifications. Our curated packages include everything you need in one purchase, or you can build your own setup component by component.
What space do I need? As a general guideline you need a minimum of 10 feet wide, 10 feet deep, and 8.5 feet of ceiling height for a functional simulator. More space gives you more flexibility with enclosure size and swing room. Our product pages include exact dimensions for every enclosure so you can match your available space before purchasing. If you are unsure, reach out and we will help you figure out what fits.
Choosing Your Setup
What is the difference between Basic, Better, and Best? Our Basic tier is a DIY enclosure kit designed for golfers who want a quality setup at an accessible price point and are comfortable with self-installation. Better is our mid-range option with premium enclosures and more screen material choices, suited for dedicated practice spaces. Best is our top tier, featuring curved enclosures and complete simulator kits with launch monitor, projector, and software included. Every tier uses quality components, the difference is in features, immersion, and setup complexity.
What launch monitor is right for me? Launch monitors range from entry level to professional grade. Budget options track the essential ball flight data needed for practice and casual play. Mid-range monitors add club data and greater accuracy. Premium monitors offer overhead camera technology, full club and ball data tracking, and deep software integration. The right choice depends on how seriously you practice and what data matters to you. If you are unsure, reach out and we will help you match a monitor to your goals and budget.
Do I need a projector or can I use a TV? Most simulator setups use a short-throw projector paired with an impact screen for the most immersive experience. A TV can work for some launch monitors in a basic practice setup but will not give you the full simulator experience and cannot be used with an enclosure in the traditional sense. We recommend a short-throw projector for any serious setup.
What simulator software is included? Software inclusion depends on the package you choose. Some complete kits include a one-year simulator software subscription. We carry setups compatible with leading platforms including GSPro and E6 Connect. For individual component purchases, software compatibility depends on your launch monitor choice. Reach out and we will help you confirm compatibility before you buy.

Installation and Support
Can I install a golf simulator myself? Most enclosures we carry are designed for self-installation and can be assembled in under two hours with standard tools. Larger and curved enclosures may benefit from an extra set of hands. If you need installation support in the Metro Vancouver area, reach out and we will do our best to connect you with local resources.
What computer do I need to run simulator software? Requirements vary by software platform. For GSPro the minimum recommended specs are an Intel Core i7 10th generation processor or newer, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 20 series GPU or better, 512GB storage, and high-speed internet. AMD processors and GPUs are not currently supported by GSPro. We recommend checking the specific requirements for your chosen software platform before purchasing.
